I am an Irish artist living and working in Scotland. I paint in a colourful, contemporary style, with acrylic paint as my preferred medium because of its versatility and vibrancy. Artistic inspiration comes from many directions – animals, the natural world, the manmade and urban landscapes all pique my interest (individually and also as part of an exploration into the contradiction of connection and disconnection that humans have with the natural world and the animals we share that world with).
Recently, I have become increasingly drawn to the abstract patterns that emerge naturally in every subject, such as the details in an animal’s fur, blades of grass, leaves, light playing on the water, and the built environment particularly from a birds-eye perspective.
