Marzia Cavallo
Granada, Spain

Marzia Cavallo is an Italian tattoo artist who has spent the past 17 years tattooing all around the world. She became a vegetarian in high school and then vegan five years ago. Since becoming vegan, she has tried to be more involved in animal rights campaigning through her art. She joined The Artof Compassion Project in September last year. Marzia has found being in this amazing collective of vegan and committed artists, both inspiring and challenging. She is now semi-retired from tattooing and she lives in a quiet isolated part of Sierra Nevada in Spain. Marzia, her husband and 4 rescued dogs are trying really hard to learn how to grow their own food, but for now the orchard seems to think that vegans eat only lettuce!

Hi Maria!
My girlfriend and I are doctoral students who recently started a non-profit, As We Wake. Our mission is ‘Connecting lives at the deepest level of identity’. We approach social topics from a non-dual perspective of Interbeing, and work on projects we hope will progress humanity’s sense of global connectedness and self-transcendence.
One of the domains we are most passionate about contributing to is reducing animal suffering. We are in the process of working on a ‘Vegan Curious’ project for generating interest in veganism. We saw your art and absolutely loved it. We are creating shirts as part of this project, and were wondering if there’s any way we could feature your art on the shirts in a way that would also benefit you? If so we would also love to show your profile and link to your work on our website, so that people could access the rest of your work.
Thanks so much and we hope you are doing well keeping happy and healthy amidst these interesting times.
Sincerely,
Tomas & Sophie
