I was born in 1971 in Johannesburg South Africa, and currently live on a plot in Chartwell with my husband and 4 cats. After a 2-year traveling stint in the UK and several career changes, I returned to university in 2008 to pursue my passion for Fine Art. In 2011 I received my National Diploma Visual Art (cum laude) from the University of Johannesburg.
I have participated in many group exhibitions and several art competitions – including the Sasol New Signatures Awards; a solo exhibition at StateOfTheArt Gallery in Cape Town, a 2-person exhibition at Halifax Gallery in Parkhurst; and a 3-person exhibition at Assemblage Gallery in Braamfontein.
Over the years, my work has explored the history of human/animal relationships, and the damage excessive consumerism is inflicting on nature. I have a particular affinity for Primates and the big cat family, and my concerns extend to the illegal pet trade, hunting, vivisection, and the loss of habitat due to human intervention.
